Getting help...

Of course, the best way to get help using O is to ask someone in your lab. However, you should also be aware of two other good sources of help: the o-info mailing list and the list of FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions). To join the o-info mailing list, just send a message to

o-info-request@kaktus.kemi.aau.dk

containing the word ``subscribe'' in the subject line. The mailing list software decodes your e-mail address and adds it to the list of subscribers. To ensure your privacy, this list is not made publically available. The body of the message is not scanned for keywords, so there is no need to put anything in there. The software receiving messages to o-info-request also recognizes a few other keywords, that enables you to unsubscribe or retrieve files. Requests are not reflected to the other subscribers of the list.

Postings to the o-info mailing list are distributed to all subscribers of the list, and should be sent to:

o-info@kaktus.kemi.aau.dk
Give your posting a subject line that briefly describes the nature of your problem.

Before posting, it is perhaps a good idea to consult the FAQ. Often, you will find the answer to your problems in there. The FAQ, maintained by Dr. Gerard Kleywegt, is available from anonymous ftp to rose.bmc.uu.se.

Finally, you should be aware of the O home page on the World Wide Web. The URL is ( http://kaktus.kemi.aau.dk). Here, you can find a lot of useful material, for example the FAQ list (including a keyword search), chapter 3 of this manual (also including a keyword search), an archive of postings to o-info, and so on. The WWW page, as well as the o-info mailing list, are administered by Morten Kjeldgaard ( mok@kemi.aau.dk).
